Bulgarian consulting company Balkan Services successfully completed a project on implementing a system for business management, Atlantis ERP Financials, in Emporiki Bank Romania, which is part of the French group Credit Agricole. The project lasted about seven months. It included integration with the main banking system Oracle FlexCube, with the Business Intelligence solution QlikView, and implementation of the platform for Web access Atlantis Web Services, which allows access of over 100 users to corporate data through desktop computers or portable devices.
Following the successful projects of Balkan Services in Emporiki Bank Bulgaria EAD, Piraeus Bank Bulgaria AD, First Investment Bank AD, Raiffeisen Bank Bulgaria EAD, UniCredit and others, the company has established itself as a reliable provider of ERP systems and other business software solutions for the financial sector.
"With the successful completion of the ERP project in Emporiki Bank Romania, as was done before in the bank’s units in Bulgaria and Albania, Balkan Services is positioned as a regional consultant in the field of business software solutions and demonstrates the ability of our team to carry out complex international projects. Among the other successfully implemented ERP projects in Romania are those in the companies Altex and Monbat"- said Philip Mutafis, Managing Partner of the company. "The project in Romania was carried out under continuous communication with four providers of business solutions, including the core banking system, and it ended with the simultaneous migration of all systems of the bank over one weekend."
The project covers the management of relationships with all suppliers of all bank, information about advance payments to employees, expenses management for future periods as well as their distribution in cost centers, in accordance with the organizational structure of the financial company. The ERP system is fully synchronized with the Romanian national accounting standards, with international accounting standards, and with corporate requirements within the Credit Agricole. Among the new features are also daily revaluation of foreign currency positions and initiating payments both in local and foreign currency.
An important feature of the new system is that it can manage the Value Added Tax in accordance with local requirements and the standards VIES and Intrastat. Furthermore, Atlantis ERP can prepare all necessary reports for Emporiki Bank Romania related to the local regulatory requirements. The system performs modeling of the Romanian chart of accounts according to the requirements of Emporiki Bank at international level. The project team of Balkan Services has also created a security policy that defines the access to various types of corporate information as well as groups of users and is fully consistent with the Romanian regulatory requirements and international standards.
The management of the fixed assets of Emporiki Bank Romania is automated, and so is their reporting under international accounting standards, revaluations and automation of records related to depreciation. In practice, the ERP system automatically posts and distributes formed amortization for the period in different cost centers and reflects the information in the reports.
