Balkan Services implemented the Qlik software at the “Debt Collection Agency” EAD. The solution automates reporting, eliminates manual data processing, and optimises the creation of daily business reports.
Through the implemented system, key business indicators are processed and analysed in real time, significantly speeding access to information and improving decision-making quality.

About the company
Debt Collection Agency EAD specialises in the purchase and management of receivables in Bulgaria and Romania. The company operates in accordance with the legal requirements of both countries, is registered as a financial institution with the Bulgarian National Bank, is a member of the Association of Collection Agencies in Bulgaria, and is certified by the Commission for Personal Data Protection.
The Need for a New System
Before the BI application was developed, reports took significant time and resources to produce, as they were detailed, contained numerous key performance indicators, and were prepared for various time periods.
Project objectives
- Automate the reporting process within the company;
- Reduce the time and effort required to prepare reports and analyses;
- Ensure accurate and timely information for management decision-making;
- Improving the tracking and analysis of a large number of key performance indicators (KPIs);
- Supporting the preparation of forecasts for the return on debt portfolios;
- Increasing the efficiency of business processes.
The Solution
The project was implemented in one of the leading company departments – “Risk and Reporting”. Before the creation of a BI application, the reports took a lot of time and resources, as they were detailed, contained many key indicators and were prepared for different periods. After the implementation of Qlik, the process for drawing up references became automated.
The Qlik solution includes integration with the Agency’s core system, followed by a complex data transformation process and the development of algorithms to calculate key performance indicators. A flexible tool for managing these indicators has been created, allowing them to be edited and added. An optimised data model was built for quick comparisons across different time periods and dimensions. Ten interactive dashboards were also developed, targeting different departments and providing a comprehensive analysis of business performance.
