The Monbat group of companies is a leading European manufacturer of lead-acid batteries with various applications.

Monbat AD is the largest producer of rechargeable batteries with various applications in Bulgaria. The company’s products, which include starter batteries, stationary batteries, batteries for photovoltaic systems, special batteries with military application and locomotive batteries, are known in 50 countries.

ERP

The implemented business management system Atlantis ERP covers the entire activity of the company. Atlantis ERP also introduces the technical indicators of the process, on which subsequent control is carried out, which gives a solid basis for comparison of the entire production process. The material procurement processes are also automated. The Logistics department uses the system to organize the transportation of supplies to the plant, monitor the status of the orders placed, notify the suppliers through automatically generated messages about the receipt of the materials or the preparation of certain delivery routes from and to the company providing the finished products or raw materials. Together with the company management, the KPIs and measures for the efficiency of the factory have been developed. This was achieved using the Qlik BI solution.

BI

The project was implemented on Qlik BI in two stages. At the first stage, the needs for analysis of the production processes have been covered. The key performance indicators (KPIs) are displayed and analyzed on dashboards, monitoring their implementation in relation to the company’s daily or monthly goals. The second stage of the project covers financial analysis, balance sheets, operating statements, cash flows. It gives a clear view of the current financial position.

The solution has been integrated with the implemented Atlantis ERP system. The integration of Atlantis ERP and the Qlik BI solution has many benefits. There are detailed reports on cost centers for the manufactured products and the input materials, detailed reports per shifts for achieving the set goal. The data generated by both systems make it possible to determine the cost price by type of finished product and by production phases. This allows a comparison of the cost price against the selling price and the exchange price determined by the London Metal Exchange. All pre-set reports are executed as required by the management. Currently, they are prepared quickly and provide the necessary information to their users.

Brief Summary

To improve business management and gain clearer visibility into all processes, Viscom implemented the Oracle NetSuite cloud ERP solution in partnership with Balkan Services. The system covers the Order-to-Cash process – from customer orders and pricing policies to credit control, logistics, intercompany transfers, delivery planning, and supplier liability tracking. Bulgarian and Macedonian localisation packages for Oracle NetSuite were also developed and implemented as part of the project.

The result is fast and easy access to organised information in a single system, full traceability of business processes, improved inventory and delivery management, more effective credit control, and optimised financial planning and cash flow management. Automation eliminates potential calculation errors and streamlines specific processes such as order-based cutting and slicing of goods.

About the Company

VISCOM BG AD is one of the largest distributors of indoor and outdoor advertising materials in Bulgaria. The company also operates in Serbia, North Macedonia, and Romania. Viscom’s products are used across a wide range of industries, includingfurniture manufacturing, mechanical engineering, lighting, interior design, and construction.

The Need for a New System

The need for new software arose from the use of multiple disconnected systems, which limited overall business visibility and hindered the effective management of processes across all companies.

The company operates on a large scale in Bulgaria, Serbia, North Macedonia, and Romania, managing complex processes related to customer orders, inventory, internal transfers, logistics, deliveries, and supplier obligations. This created the need for a unified ERP system that provides centralised information, full traceability, and improved planning across all key business processes.

Project Objectives

The system covers the entire Order-to-Cash process and includes the following functionalities:

Customer orders, pricing policies, credit control, payment methods, lead times and due dates, and approval workflows;

Internal warehouse transfers, inventory allocation planning, internal requests, approvals, and execution;

Logistics management;

Demand history, analysis, and forecasting at item, seasonal, customer, and other levels;

Delivery planning and scheduling;

Systematisation, processing, and traceability of supplier obligations, including deadlines, currencies, and payment methods.

Project description

As many US-based software companies, Smule, Inc. implemented Oracle NetSuite – a cloud ERP. With the continuous growth of the subsidiary office, the need for an integrated accounting and reporting system became more and more urgent.

Logically, Smule Bulgaria chose NetSuite as a further step in streamlining and managing the global operations of the Group. The ERP solution is used not only for accounting purposes but also for financial and management reporting.

In order to have a dual solution which can be used for the group as well as statutory purposes, a specialized module – Multi-Book accounting has been implemented which enables Smule to keep accounting records under two separate legal frameworks – US GAAP and Bulgarian.

Not only this but the system also enables Smule to automate and facilitate easy reporting to Bulgarian institutions as part of regulatory compliance in the country.

The whole ERP integration project took only 3 months and most of its part was done remotely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Benefits for the business

Significant reduction of the time for consolidation and group reporting (days vs hours)

Better risk management in reducing manual errors factor;

Possibility to keep accounting records in different currencies and under different accounting frameworks;

Automation of the currency conversion and asset reevaluation processes;

Automation and improvement of reports for both regulatory and management purposes;

Automation and improvement of Fixed assets reporting – under accounting and tax standards

Balkan Services implemented the Soft1 ERP system at Viplast AD, a manufacturer of PET film and recycled PET packaging. The solution centralises data, improving process control and coordination for more efficient planning and production optimisation.

About the company

“Viplast” AD is rapidly growing company engaged in the production of polyethene terephthalate (PET) film and the recycling of PET packaging and film.
The Need for a New System

Before adopting Soft1 ERP, Viplast primarily used Excel spreadsheets. When the company commissioned new production facilities and expanded, the volume of work and sales, as well as the entire business, increased.

Before implementing the new ERP system, the company also used other business management software. However, it did not meet Viplast’s business needs; the company only used it for invoicing.

Centralisation of data into a single system;

Improving traceability and control over business processes

Optimising production planning;

Increasing efficiency and coordination between departments;

Ensuring access to up-to-date information in real time.

The Solution

The Soft1 ERP cloud-based system covers all key business processes from customer quotation, through material supply, production, finished product grading, dispatch, and receipt of payment from the customer.

The solution is tailored to the specific requirements of manufacturing operations and enables work in a unified environment with centralised information and real-time access. The cloud model allows for flexibility, constant access, and the use of the always-up-to-date version of the software.

The ERP system benefits employees across the entire company, and virtually no department lacks access to it.

Results

Merge data from different sources into one system;

Quick and easy access to comprehensive and correct information about the state of the business, and the ability to drill down into specific details with just a few clicks;

Optimization of the production process;

Improved planning process based on correct data;

Quick and easy order history tracking;

Flexibility to change customer order parameters and execute in a timely manner;

Quick access to reports with the most important business metrics, including via mobile device;

Improved reporting.
