In the last financial year, all public companies in Bulgaria, obliged to prepare their annual financial statements in the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF), had to tag only their “four main forms”. For financial years beginning on or after January 1, 2022, the tagging of the notes to the financial statements is mandatory .

The new challenge in the preparation of the ESEF reports is the text block tagging of the notes, which will significantly affect the reporting process.

The ESEF standard poses an obligation on listed companies to publish their annual consolidated financial statements in iXBRL format. In all EU Member States, such reports must be reviewed or audited before presentation.

Both the presentation and the auditing of ESEF-compatible financial statements are only possible with specialized software.

With regards to the entry into force of the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF), according to which as of 01.01.2020 all public companies in the EU shall be obliged to prepare and present their annual consolidated financial statements into XBRL format, Balkan Services and the Bulgarian Stock Exchange invite you to a demonstration of the certified tool for converting reports to XBRL format– XBRL Tagger. The event will take place online on 13 October 2020 at 11:00 through the conference call platform Zoom.

Within 30 minutes the participants will be shown how to convert the annual consolidated financial statements into the newly adopted ESEF format easily and by themselves, without the need of any software integration process or special technical knowledge.
